How Many Chickens Can a Coop Hold?
One of the most important factors when setting up a chicken coop is providing enough space for your chickens. The recommended space for each chicken to move comfortably and live in a healthy environment is around 0.2–0.3 m².
To Calculate the Coop's Capacity:
Measure the total area of the coop (in square meters).
Determine the area to be allocated per chicken (0.2–0.3 m²).
By dividing the total area by the space per chicken, you can find out how many chickens your coop can hold.
Example Calculation:
If you have a coop that is 10 m² and you allocate 0.25 m² per chicken:
10 m² ÷ 0.25 m² = It can hold 40 chickens.
